Duha Legal

Terms of Use

Effective date: October 6, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Duha mobile application ("Duha", the "App", or the "Service"), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). Duha is developed and published by SubSet App ("we", "us", or "our"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not download, access, or use Duha.

2. Description of the Service

Duha is an Islamic lifestyle and daily worship companion designed to assist Muslims with personal worship. Features include prayer time calculations, Athan audio reminders, Quran text and audio recitation, tafsir commentary, Qibla compass bearing, dhikr counters, Qada missed prayer tracking, daily duas, Islamic Hijri calendar tools, and Home Screen / Lock Screen widgets.

3. Religious and Accuracy Disclaimer

Duha is provided strictly as an informational and convenience tool for personal devotion. While we utilize established astronomical algorithms and reputable calculation methods (e.g., Diyanet, Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian General Authority):

  • Prayer times, Qibla compass bearings, and Hijri calendar dates may vary based on geographic location, elevation, local horizon conditions, magnetic interference, device sensors, and local Islamic juristic determinations.
  • Nearby mosque directories, Friday prayer schedules, and user-submitted mosque notes are compiled from public geographic databases (OpenStreetMap/Overpass) and user submissions, and may not reflect real-time changes.
  • You are solely responsible for verifying critical religious timings, fasting dates, and religious rulings with your local mosque, scholars, or religious authorities.

4. Free and Premium Features

An active Duha Premium subscription is required to access the application after setup. Weekly and yearly subscriptions provide ongoing access to prayer times, Quran tools, worship tracking, reminders, and other app features. There is no free basic tier. You can review prices and renewal terms before purchase and manage or cancel your subscription through your platform store. Setup, subscription purchase, restoration, and legal information remain accessible without an active subscription.

5. Subscriptions, In-App Purchases, and Billing

A. Subscription Options

  • Weekly Auto-Renewable Subscription: Billed on a recurring weekly basis. Eligible new subscribers may be offered a discounted introductory first billing period. The exact introductory and regular price is determined by and displayed in your localized App Store or Google Play storefront. After the introductory period concludes, the subscription will automatically renew at the displayed standard localized weekly price unless cancelled prior to renewal.
  • Yearly Auto-Renewable Subscription: Billed upfront for a 12-month period and automatically renews annually at the displayed localized yearly rate unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Monthly Subscriptions: Monthly subscriptions are no longer offered to new users. Existing legacy subscribers who previously purchased a monthly subscription continue to maintain their premium entitlement for as long as their subscription remains active.

B. Pricing and Storefront Localization

All subscription prices are localized based on your country, currency, and local applicable taxes as determined by the Apple App Store or Google Play. No fixed monetary prices are hardcoded into these Terms; the exact price applicable to your account is explicitly presented on the in-app purchase screen and confirmed by your platform's checkout sheet before purchase.

C. Automatic Renewal and Billing

Payment is charged directly to your Apple ID account (for iOS users) or Google Play account (for Android users) upon confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours prior to the conclusion of the current subscription period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period at the then-applicable renewal rate.

D. Cancellation and Subscription Management

You can manage, cancel, or modify your subscription at any time through your device's app store account settings:

  • iOS: Open the Settings app on your Apple device → tap your Apple ID → tap Subscriptions → select Duha → tap Cancel Subscription. Alternatively, visit Apple Subscription Settings.
  • Android: Open the Google Play Store → tap your profile icon → tap Payments & Subscriptions → tap Subscriptions → select Duha → tap Cancel. Alternatively, visit Google Play Subscriptions.

Please note: Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel your subscription. Duha customer support cannot cancel subscriptions or modify billing parameters directly on your behalf; all cancellation requests must be executed through your Apple or Google account.

E. Restore Purchases

If you switch devices or reinstall Duha, you can restore active subscriptions without repurchasing by tapping the "Restore Purchases" button located on the Premium Paywall or in the app's Settings menu. The app utilizes RevenueCat subscription infrastructure to securely verify your entitlement against Apple or Google purchase records.

F. Refunds

All purchases and refunds are processed and governed directly by the terms and policies of the platform storefront through which the purchase was made. Apple and Google handle all refund inquiries. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, please contact Apple Support or Google Play Support directly.

6. Acceptable Use and Community Guidelines

You agree to use Duha only for lawful, respectful, and personal purposes. When using optional community features (such as prayer requests, dhikr chains, or feedback):

  • Do not post unlawful, abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or sectarian content.
  • Do not distribute spam, automated commercial communications, or deceptive material.
  • Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or circumvent the app's code, DRM, or security mechanisms.
  • Do not attempt to bypass paywalls or tamper with RevenueCat or store receipt validation systems.

We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to remove any user-contributed content or terminate access to community features for any violation of these rules.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

All software, visual design, icons, user interface elements, branding, audio compositions, and proprietary content in Duha are the exclusive intellectual property of SubSet App and our licensors, protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws. Religious texts (Quranic verses, hadith collections, and tafsir commentary) and open map data (OpenStreetMap) are respected under their respective public domains, scholarly attributions, and open licenses. You are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Duha solely on your personal devices.

8. Third-Party Services and Links

The Service integrates with third-party technologies, including Google Play, Apple App Store, Firebase, RevenueCat, and OpenStreetMap. We do not control and are not responsible for the availability, content, terms, or privacy policies of third-party platforms.

9. Service Modifications and Availability

We continually strive to improve Duha. We reserve the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature, tool, or service component at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee that the App will be accessible at all times without interruption or technical errors.

12. Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA)

For users who download Duha from the Apple App Store, these Terms incorporate by reference the Apple Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement ("Standard EULA"), available at https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/. In the event of any direct conflict between these Terms and the Standard EULA, these Terms shall control to the extent permissible.

13. Termination

You may terminate your agreement with these Terms at any time by ceasing all use of the App and uninstalling it from your devices. We may suspend or terminate your access to Duha immediately, without prior notice, if you breach any provision of these Terms or engage in conduct harmful to the App or its users.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may revise and update these Terms from time to time. If we make material modifications, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Your continued use of Duha following the posting of revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
